Sauteed Cabbage, Caraway, and Macaroni

1/2 large head cabbage, shredded
2 green onions, chopped
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
not quite 2 cups macaroni
1/4 cup or so half & half
1/2 cup or so grated cheddar or jack cheese
3 TBSP butter
salt & pepper to taste

Cook macaroni in boiling water until al dente. In the meantime, melt butter in a large skillet and sauté cabbage, onions and caraway seeds, stirring often, until the cabbage is crisp tender. Drain the pasta and stir into the cabbage skillet. Add half & half, cheese and salt & pepper and cook through, allowing the macaroni to absorb a little of the cream until you get a nice consistency.
